Hi Coaches and Parents,

My name is Dr. Sonja Halsey and I’m the founder of EmpowerHer Health & Performance. Four

years ago, I started teaching Performance Physiology workshops for USA Hockey National

Girls Player Development Camps, which gave me the initial inspiration to create EmpowerHer.

In these workshops I teach female hormone physiology and how it connects with important

foundational aspects of health and sports performance for teen girls. I offer a range of

services depending on the needs of athletes, teams, clubs, and organizations, which I’ll

summarize below. At EmpowerHer we believe that knowledge is power for girls and that

understanding female physiology is the future of girls’ and women’s sports.

1. Workshops

I offer age-appropriate workshops on a range of topics about female hormone physiology and

sport performance optimization. Workshops are a great opportunity to engage and inspire the

whole team as well as coaches and parents; helping to create an environment of

understanding and confidence for all. Workshops can be in-person or virtual.

2. Girls In Sport Online Course

Girls In Sport Online Course is based on the years of research and workshops I’ve put

together for multiple organizations. I built this course to increase teen athlete engagement of

the material, as well as make this information more accessible for girls everywhere. Each

module ties together female hormone physiology to foundational health and performance

topics through video modules, a 30-page workbook, and reference guides. Modules Include:

Female Physiology and Hormone Cycles, Nutrition, Training & Recovery, Stress Management,

Puberty and Confidence Through the Teen Years. The course is also great for parents and

coaches. I offer team and club discounts on the course! More female athlete specific courses

coming soon.

3. 1:1 Athlete Consultations

I also offer private consultations for female athletes (teen and adult) who may be going

through hormone and cycle related health challenges that are affecting their experience in

sports. These challenges can range from difficult periods, digestive issues, injury recovery,

nutrition, low energy, and more.

Please do not hesitate to reach out via the Contact Form if you have any questions or would like to schedule a time to speak with me directly.

Thank you for your dedication to advancing health and performance of girls (and women) in sports.

Dr. Sonja Halsey
